Flag Is Up Farms Facilities
Training ProgramsFlag Is Up Farms trains horses from all disciplines to learn the basic principles from the ground up. Our team of trainers specializes in starting young horses under saddle, bombproofing trail riding companions and retraining horses that need a new start in their career. Hunter/Jumpers, racehorses, dressage athletes, and Western discipline reiners and cowhorses all begin their training in the safety of the roundpen. Each horse experiences an individualized training program according to his ability, enabling the horse to enjoy his work and develop a cooperative partnership with riders and handlers.
“There is no better training program for my yearlings on the planet than that at Flag Is Up Farms. They are the true professionals without question.” - John Moore, 2007, leading Hong Kong trainer and buyer of Electronic Unicorn. Electronic Unicorn was a winner of multiple Gr. I races and received his starting and pre-race training at Flag Is Up Farms. Every care is taken to always have the safest surface from the round pens with OttoSport footing, the indoor and outdoor sand arenas, and the well-maintained 5/8-mile oval race track. Flag Is Up gives young horses the competitive advantage with experienced exercise riders who have patience, balance and good hands. Our trainers cause our horses to become focused athletes from the outset of their professional careers. “In a world that has shrunk to a global village, it is important that mankind act as a responsible steward of creation whether human or animal. Monty Roberts, in his life’s work of perfecting communication without pain or fear, achieves this with respect and love for all creatures. I am very proud and privileged to have Monty as a friend and teacher.” - Terry Pendry Stud groom to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Windsor Castle Successful Thoroughbreds trained at Flag Is Up Farms include Santa Anita Derby winner An Act, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Alleged, Germany’s champion 3-year-old Lomitas, Gr.
