Monty Robertsről

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Számtalan díjat nyert, a sajtó világszerte közvetítette munkáját, kiadott három New York Times bestseller könyvet, II.

1996-ban, II. Erzsébet királynő javaslatára jelent meg Az igazi suttogó (The Man Who Listens to Horses) és világsiker lett. Majdnem 5 millió példányban kelt el. Hirtelen Roberts és kiképzési módszere reflektorfénybe került. Azóta Monty élete az erőszakmentesség üzenetének terjesztésével telik: számos további bestseller, világ körüli turnék a Join-Up® gyakorlati bemutatóival és rengeteg tanuló képzése van a tréner mögött – és előtt. Monty instruktorokat képez ki, akik a világ számos pontján tanítják módszereit.

Monty ma is kitart célja mellett: „hogy a világ jobb legyen, amikor távozik, mint amikor ide érkezett”.

Learn From Me

The Upper Room

In The Man Who Listens to Horses, Monty Roberts tells of learning to train horses by listening to them. His father had trained horses through physical domination and fear, “breaking” them. But Monty hated how the horses suffered and sought a better way.

As a teenager, Monty spent long hours observing wild mustangs. He watched how they used their bodies to communicate with each other and to establish relationships. Monty began experimenting with ways to use his own body to communicate with the animals. He learned to use his eyes, hands, and body to work with the mustangs. Soon they were as responsive to him as they were to other horses in the herd. Based on what he learned, Monty has trained thousands of horse trainers, proving that horses do not have to be dominated or abused in order to learn to let us ride them. (more…)

Whisper Among Friends

Santa Barbara News-Press, Valley Living

By Nora K. Wallace

Pacing around a dirt-floored arena, Monty Roberts flicks a rope toward a horse, which follows him with wary apprehension.

On stands above the circular arena in Solvang, 40 or so people from all over the country watch the famed horse trainer with rapt attention. Many are documenting the experience with video cameras, taking down everything Mr. Roberts says about the techniques that earned him worldwide acclaim.

The 71-year old author of the 1996 best-seller “The Man Who Listens to Horses” promotes a training technique that seeks to “communicate with horses in their natural language.” All of his training is taught with a deeply ingrained personal philosophy that promotes problem-solving — for horses and humans — without violence, punishment, or fear.
