We leaped at the chance to have Monty Roberts involved with the American Competitive Trail Horse Association. Monty’s gentle and effective methods of training horses are world renowned.
Our members love his tips and the wealth of knowledge offered on his Equus Online University. His students learn ways to have even more fun and be safe on the trail.
He is an icon in the horse world and represents the sport and the ideal relationship of its participants, horse and rider.~ Tom and Carrie Scrima

My friends at Cavallo Horse and Rider enthusiastically described ACTHA to me when they became involved with an ACTHA ride in my home state.
We supported them by spreading the word and then we became involved in a local ride where my Willing Partners™ Program horses all placed well which was very exciting. But when I read what ACTHA stood for I knew we needed to align ourselves and follow the same trail. I read that they pledge to:
- To provide an enjoyable venue showcasing the wonderful attributes of the great American trail horse, granting them the recognition they so richly deserve.
- To maintain a registry open to all breeds and a point designation system which will stay with each horse for its lifetime, thereby adding to their value and distinction.
- To enable the humane treatment of horses in need.
It doesn’t get much better than that for me! ACTHA is one of the fields the sport is played on and pays homage to the horse while playing the game. ~Monty Roberts
